If you've ever tried to run a fishing competition, a workplace comp, or a community fundraiser off the back of a spreadsheet and a Facebook group, you'll know the drill: someone loses track of who's registered, someone's phone dies mid weigh-in, and the "official" results end up buried in a comments thread. Club Manager exists to fix that.
It's built around how NZ fishing clubs actually operate, but it isn't limited to them — community groups, workplaces, and individuals running a one-off competition can use exactly the same system, under their own name.
What's Inside Club Manager
Once you're registered, everything lives behind one login:

Bulk Upload and Invites
Already have a membership list in a spreadsheet? Upload it once and Fisho matches existing members automatically as they register, or invite people individually via email straight from the Members tab. No manual re-entry, no chasing people to fill in a form.
Running a Competition — Your Rules, Your Format
Every competition you create comes with its own rules, so you can run a simple one-off comp or something far more structured:
- Scoring by length, weight, points, or a measure-and-multiplier formula — choose how a catch is measured.
- Best fish or all fish, per species — score each angler on their single best catch of each species, or count every eligible catch they land.
- Angler of the Year points — award placing points per species (1st gets the most, 2nd one less, and so on) and sum them across every species into one overall standing — built for season-long or multi-species club championships.
- Trifecta competitions — flag a handful of species (three is typical) and sum each angler's best catch of each into one combined score, rewarding well-rounded anglers over one lucky catch. Anglers who've only landed some of the flagged species still show up, with a clearly marked partial total.
- Leaderboard cut-off — hide the live leaderboard for a set window before the competition closes (six hours by default), so the closing stretch stays a genuine surprise instead of a known target to beat.
Club Standings — Club vs Club Competitions
For inter-club events (sometimes run as a "Super Club" or "Inter-Club" Championship), Club Standings turns individual catches into a club-vs-club competition. You choose which species count and how many of each club's best individual catches get summed per species — the combined weight of a club's best two snapper, for example — and the totals are ranked club against club rather than angler against angler. Anglers are scored for their home club even if they've joined a second club just for the event, so a guest entry can't accidentally boost the wrong team.
Trifecta and Club Standings both get their own section on the website leaderboard and the embeddable leaderboard widget — currently a website/Club Manager feature, not yet available in the Fisho Catch mobile app.
Every catch submitted through the Fisho app goes to your Weighmaster for approval before it hits the board — nothing goes live without a real person signing off. When a new catch comes in for review, your Weighmaster gets an email alert automatically, so nothing sits in the queue unnoticed — and if you'd rather it sound like your club than a generic system message, the wording is yours to edit under Settings > Email Templates.
Digital Membership Cards
Give every member a card on their phone — Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, always up to date.
No more laminated cards! Set it up from Settings, and Digital Membership Cards live in your members' phone wallets, update automatically the moment you renew a membership, and can include a scannable barcode for fast check-in at weigh-ins, prizegivings, or your clubrooms till.

What It Costs
Registering your club and setting up Club Manager costs nothing, whatever your club's size. Running a competition is free too, up to 50 entrants — which covers the vast majority of club comps outright, whether you're an established club, a community group, or one person organising a one-off event for mates.
For bigger competitions, a simple fair-use fee applies — no plan, no contract, no sales process:
- Up to 50 entrants — free, always
- 51–500 entrants — $249 flat, per competition
- 500+ entrants — cost-recovery pricing by arrangement
It's a fee per competition, not a club-wide plan — a club with 300 members running a 40-entrant comp pays nothing. The fee only applies to the specific competition that goes over 50 entrants.
Digital Membership Cards are priced separately — see above — and can be added at any time regardless of competition size.
